Team Leadership Exploration – Ms. Bottle Ext 7301
Grades 6-8 Class Syllabus
This class is designed to help discover and develop your talents as a leader. Everyone has the potential to lead, and every day provides you with opportunities and possibilities to lead. Instead of sitting and taking notes, you’ll learn about leadership by getting involved in activities, engaging in group discussions, writing your thoughts, and setting goals to act. As you learn leadership by connecting it to everyday life, you will gain greater confidence in your potential and your abilities. Fun and interesting sessions will help you improve skills to become an effective leader and have a good time.
Goals:
The overall goals of “Everyday Leadership” are to support you in:
v Developing basic understanding of leadership ideas and how to lead others.
v Learning practical leadership skills through fun and challenging activities, discussion, observation, reading, writing, and goal setting.
v Building a positive attitude about leadership.
v Increasing awareness of your abilities, strengths, and style of leadership.
v Acting in small or big ways to make a difference by inspiring and leading others.
This will be a pass or fail class. However, I expect each student to take a serious role in this class. There will be two exams, but only for a self assessment of what you have learned.
